Got the left fork done, but had to clean up to go watch a movie with the family. That's OK, 'cause now I know what I'm doing and the right fork won't take but 30 minutes.
Quick update... last fall, I replaced the fork seals again, as they weren't sealing and oil was getting all over the front of the bike. Turns out that putting new seals in the same way the old seals came out only works if the old seals were installed correctly the first time.
And if you struggle to get the seals out and end up scoring the fork wall in the process? It's a good bet the old seals weren't put in correctly.
OK, it took longer than 30 minutes, but they're both cleaned and installed, and the bike feels much better now!
